Today's Dress - 'Recycled Fashion'

At a press day a few weeks ago I came across a designer who makes clothes, particularly dresses, out of Speedo material, be it either swimming costumes or wetsuits.

Unfortunately the designer wasn't there at the time as they had instead sent an intern so, without having been able to talk to them about their inspiration and ideas, I shall instead have to just show you the pictures.

What do you think of these pieces? In my opinion they are an interesting idea for the catwalk, but I personally couldn't see many people wearing them in an ordinary situation.

Leave me a comment and tell me what you think!

Hudson Women's Shoes A/W 2011

Yesterday I blogged about Hudson's Autumn/Winter 2011 collection for men, here, and today I've been exploring the women's lookbook.

Boots are most definitely 'in' this season and with a variety of styles and colours to choose from there is no excuse for not being fashion-fit this fall.

Love this, I think the contrast of the brown on black is fab

This new twist on a classic look is hot

Likewise for these. (Go for the 'sexy librarian' look this season if you're feeling bold!)

Head over to Hudson's relatively new (it's opened in December) e-shop on their website at http://www.hudsonshoes.com/ and follow them on Twitter at @HudsonShoesUK

Hudson Shoes A/W 2011

This week, I went to Hudson Shoes' Press Day for their Autumn/Winter collection, which I absolutely loved.

Hudson celebrates, this year, their twenty-first birthday yet they have been relatively unknown until more recently. They branched out into women's shoes in 2008 and launched their first e-commerce store only four months ago. With a bag line also coming along in the near future, Hudson certainly have a lot going on!

I think that this is a great footwear brand and I shall definitely be wearing items from their A/W collection this fall.

Slightly more 'late summer/beginning of autumn' these are versatile and can be worn in a variety of ways

I really like these and can definitely see myself wearing them this year

Pictures from Hudson's women's range are to follow!

Jimmy Choo A/W 2011

On Wednesday, I was invited to Jimmy Choo's Autumn/Winter Press Day to look at their new collection (and have a macaroon or two!)

Their new collection is inspired by the stars of the early 1970s: Catherine Deneuve, Veruschka, and Charlotte Rampling.

Catherine
The Catherine bag embodies ladylike classicism, inspired by French film and the exquisite detail brings back memories of the formal handbags of a decadent era gone by.

Exotic versions use rich wintery tones of black, winter white or dove grey crocodile framing panels of flat-cut mink.

The Catherine range is the new signature bag for Jimmy Choo.

To accompany the Catherine bag are cigarette heels in mid and high volumes which are chic, sleek and extremely sexy.

The Flora knee-high sandal boot version with 110mm heel

Veruschka
Remembering the Seventies with artisanal decorative details and glamorous expression we find Veruschka with a new chunky heel, high volume wedge, a new proportion on the knee boot and a deliciously oversized tassel along with whip-stitching and coloured feathers.

I absolutely love this, with the feathers adding something luxuriously special

Charlotte
This range, inspired by Charlotte Rampling, takes inspiration from late Seventies French Vogue. Hard edged, yet romantic with glitter and gloss coming together in a powerful paring.

Classic Disco

This look is elegant, yet fun

Press Day!

So today I've been very busy at Press Days in London! My appearances included Jimmy Choo, Hudson Shoes, Forward PR, and Canoe PR, along with many other designers at the Savoy.

I'm way too tired to blog about it all tonight, but I'll update you tomorrow!

My favourite was probably the Jimmy Choo A/W collection, inspired by 1970s Paris. I loved their Catherine (Deneuve) bag and their new heel length of 145mm (some with double platform too)!
